From Kickstarter to Innovation: The Bullbird Story

Introduction

Every great product begins with a simple frustration. For us, it was the so-called “life preserver” travel pillow. Bulky, awkward, and ineffective, it didn’t provide the posture support we needed during long trips for work. And when we looked at the alternatives, nothing worked either.

That’s when the idea for Bullbird was born — a travel pillow we would actually use.

The First Flight: 2015

In 2015, we launched our vision on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, raising $381,635 from travelers around the world who believed in our mission. The support proved one thing: we weren’t alone. Millions of travelers were looking for something better.

Our goal wasn’t comfort alone. We wanted to design a technical piece of gear that aligned the spine, promoted better posture, and made travel genuinely healthier. And unlike bulky pillows, we made it 80% smaller, discreet, and easy to pack in any carry-on.

Taking Off with Brookstone

Following our crowdfunding success, we signed a licensing deal with Brookstone, which helped us reach even more travelers. But by 2018, we knew it was time to take full control of our future and continue innovating under our own brand.

Listening to Travelers: 2019

In 2019, Bullbird launched a new and improved travel pillow based on feedback from real customers worldwide. Frequent flyers, athletes, and professionals told us what worked — and what could be better. We listened, refined, and created a product that was not only comfortable but also chiropractor-designed for cervical alignment, posture, and recovery.

What started as a frustration in 2015 has grown into a global brand with one mission: to make travel healthier and smarter.
